Hi guys kloe here ...
This week my blog turns six months old ( fists pumps the air )I still can’t quite believe it and I just wanted to share with you what I’ve learnt in my first 6 months of blogging , if I’m honest I’ve always wanted to write a blog like this it feels like a way of giving back in the blogger community.
So here's what I've learnt .....
Don’t be to hard on yourself
This is a huge thing for me personally and if your like me and everything on your blog has to perfect then this will help massively I hope (crosses fingers) . As I always tell myself if I'm not a 100% on a blog leave it a few days then come back to it with a fresh mind , I also get my twin sister mariah who is also a begginger blogger ( vibes by Mariah) to read over it , there is a lot of bloggers that will read over your mock blog and give advice. You guys can always message me on Twitter or leave a comment below and I'd love to help. If you don't think this is not your best blog I will assure you in saying your blogs will get better once you find your feet.
This is something that I feel most proud of on my blog as I've posted every week since I started my blog in July 2016 . But that being said don't feel pressured to post on a certain day every week, post when your happy with your blogs content, even if you post every two weeks for example but the key is to try and post on regular basis .
I knew I had to mention this in today's blog as it's something that really makes your blog / blog posts stand out from other blogs as I've recently learnt. I haven't been putting pictures in my blogs for long as when I first started blogging it wasn't really on my mind to put pictures in. But after talking to a fellow blogger( Lauren the daydreamer ) a few months ago Lauren suggested I put pictures in my blog and i thought I can only try it . I mostly use for a header picture something from Mr Google and I try and use pictures within my blog that I've taken myself to break up the writing as other wise I find the blogs writing intense (weird I know ) I find chunks of writing off putting as a blogger and as a reader of other blogs .
Make jokes / talk to your readers
This may sound like the strangest thing I've learnt in the past 6 months but making jokes like I feel like big foot but only have size seven feet these sort of jokes are not funny as such but I feel like the lighten the blog so it's not tense and formal . Talking to your readers may sound like an unusual term but when I'm writing my blog i write it as if I'm telling one person about whatever that blog is about this may not work for everyone but it works for me.
Other blogs give me ideas
Some may think of this as cheating or something but I always find reading other people's blogs sometimes give me ideas for example i was reading the other day a make up review and gave me the idea for make up looks under £10 this is the kind of thing I mean about it giving me as a blogger ideas and also layout tips too or how I should lay out items for my blog photography. When I'm reading other blogs it makes me realise how different our writing styles are even If me and another blogger were to write a review on the same product it still would be different because of our writing styles. I don't read other blogs just for ideas but I read them because I enjoy reading them and I'm a sucker for a cosy blog .
